Working with photographer Jacq Harriet, Somers infused that wide-eyed spirit of curiosity into her brand’s summer look book. Featuring cameras, coin-operated binoculars, a blow-up globe, and a vintage Peugeot moped, each photo is a cheeky tribute to the Official Cow I am sweet lovable kind shy and Innocent oh for Heaven’s sake stop Laughing Shirt Furthermore, I will do this wonders of exploring a new corner of the world. Judging by the love she’s gotten from domestic and international customers alike, it seems that there are a lot of people who love seeing travel through her brightly tinted lenses. “Entering a new place and hearing a different language and just being around a new energy, that really invigorates me,” Somers says. “During the pandemic, that’s been challenging to find.” While she initially dreamt up Made Some Souvenirs in the months before coronavirus caused lockdowns and border shutdowns, the work took on new importance as she hunkered down in her Los Angeles home. “I actually haven’t traveled at all,” she says of the past year and a half. “But there will be a time to travel again, and we’ve got to have some optimism and positivity through all of this. If I can create that through my brand, then that’s great.”

Although Somers is sticking close to home for the Official Cow I am sweet lovable kind shy and Innocent oh for Heaven’s sake stop Laughing Shirt Furthermore, I will do this time being, there’s no shortage of inspiring sights and sounds to pique her interest. “L.A. is pretty multicultural, and even just driving around, there’s old signage and buildings that I have to take my camera out to capture,” she says. She’s also partial to wandering the aisles of specialty grocery stores and picking up spices, sweets, and other vibrantly packaged pantry staples from around the world. A self-described go-getter, Somers is already thinking about what could come next for her brand. “I really want to create a world of travel, whether that’s sunglasses, bathing suits, towels, totes,” she says. “Really colorful, youthful, and playful.” In the meantime, like so many of us, Somers is dreaming about where she’d like to visit once she’s back in the swing of traveling again. “India is so beautiful and rich in color and culture,” she says. It’s safe to assume that when she does make it over there, she’ll come back with some killer souvenirs.
